Haircell vs Semi-Aniline Leather?

Aston appear to have been using 'Haircell' leather for their cars over the past couple of years. Has anyone found much difference in reality to the semi-aniline which I am led to believe is superior?
First time I've ever heard this term! I looked it up and the only references I can find are those describing it as an embossed pattern to mimic the look of the animal's hair follicles. This certainly doesn't sound like something Aston would have done in the past, but it is 2024 and they have moved into the "super luxury" category, thanks to Mr. Stroll My understanding of a semi-aniline leather is that unlike aniline leather, it does have a very thin coating (but thinner than most coated leather). As such, it is supposed to retain some of the 'natural' look and feel of aniline leather, but still have more durability and some mild degree of water beading, thanks to the coating.
Maybe there are leather experts on here who will correct me, but I would think that embossing is typically done on the coating, and is NOT a mark of a high-end leather.
Yes, I have never heard of this leather before either. Googling comes up with 2022 onwards model years seem to have it. Was wondering if anyone that has purchased a brand new AM in the last couple of years has managed to experience it first hand?
I contacted Bridge of Weir and they stated that their Haircell which is used by AM has a fine emboss whereas Semi-Aniline has a smoother, more natural finish. No difference in smell as they use the same chemistry so I suppose that is good.
