Recently changed battery and hydraulic fuse and car just conked out again…… no error messages but went into neutral and won’t kick in.

Worked fine for a few days

Any ideas?

Have you checked the same and other fuses?

Fuses sometimes blow with age, but far more often it is because of a fault/short circuit.

Are there specific fuses I should be checking?

Or just check them all?

I’m reluctant to touch or check anything now as got the dealer to send a tech out next week to investigate and diagnose

So just checked, it doesn’t prime and the fuse has blown again, why would it blow so quickly?

Shorting. The AM tech should be equipped to identify/locate a short easily.

Yep, sounds like the fuse is doing its job.

The best bet is to wait for the tech thumbup

I had similar in mine, I traced it to a faulty relay in the boot fuse board, swapped it with the spare one that was in the same fuse board, opened the door and it primed up. This was 8 months ago, been perfect since and only cost £4.! I’m not great mechanically, just come across a thread from a lady in America who experienced this, probably worth a shot? Just need the relay/fuse diagram for your fuse board?

I wouldn’t have the first clue about swapping a board, I was able to change the fuse and it primed straight away etc.

I bought a load of fuses as spares until I can find the cause of the short

Umm...
Caution advised with this approach. Even worse I knew somebody with a Jag X-type which kept blowing a 10A fuse, so he solved it by putting in a 30A fuse. Which worked okay for a while. Until it set fire to the wiring loom anyway. Honestly I'd let the AM tech find the trouble for you. Modern car wiring is a minefield if you aren't sure what you're doing.

Yeah I haven’t replaced it with anything but what was already in there, I don’t intend to drive it too much if at all. Just useful to have.

If u have the spare relay as shown in the image I’d give it a swap, but ultimately it’s down to u, just trying to help, if you’re not happy doing it, don’t, wait until your technician turns up, John

Due respect to John...
I have often known relays to fail but I've only once seen one dead-short and blow fuses. (Defender fuel pump relay). But his suggestion is such a simple check that it's worth a try if you're curious. The worst case is it costs another fuse.
That said, if you're not confident about electric stuff I still think you're best advised to wait for the techie.
He'll be insured to do it, you're not. Just a thought.
Good luck mate.

Hopefully a result mate. Well played and kudos for having the balls to try it.
If you have the confidence and curiosity you can try diagnostic testing on the offending relay to see if you can find an isolation fault between any terminations.
But that's a whole new minefield, lol!
