Rich if you wanted a black car why didn't you just order one? Or are you waiting for the self cleaning car technology to be developed.

Hi Gary,
enjoy your time up at Gaydon. Just a quick question, if you don't mind me asking who is your dealer. The reason I ask is because mine doesn't seem to have any idea of when I could expect to receive a car apart from saying middle of next year, yet they asked me to spec the car now. I am just trying to figure out if there is any consistency between the dealers or are they just trying to get deposits out of everyone as soon as possible simply to have the money on account.
Thanks
Paul

I think that the dealers have their allocations for this year but not firm for next.

I think also that the collection of specs is at the request of the factory rather than dealer initiated.

Paul

My dealer is Broughtons in Cheltenham. They are in a unique position in that they only just received Aston authorisation and their dealership actually opens in October. They have told me that my car will enter the sales system in November and then they will ask for another £2500 making a total deposit of £7500.

I would guess that if you are being asked to go to Gaydon soon (do you have a factory visit date?) then it sounds to me a similar timeframe to me for a March delivery. However I am new to all this so who knows!!

IMHO - AM dealers are somewhat used to delayed car launches and the inevitable angry customer that follows, therefore they try and be a little non-commital.

Also the nature of a hand-assembled, low-volume British sportscar is one that cannot be timed to the day.

I have been in the same position many many times and would suggest not worrying - they will be speaking on the side of caution so as not to dissappoint by a week or so.

Relax and enjoy the experience - and your visit to Gaydon. It is a very impressive place and I thought all the people I met there could not be more polite or passionate.

Great to know the experience at Gaydon is a very good one. I cannot wait!!! Have not asked my dealer yet BUT can you take anyone? I would love to take my dad but not sure if he would get the full tour like me?
