Mr JWW DBS rebuild on youtube
Discussion
Just watched the unveiling of his finished vehicle and I think it's stunning.
Just love the colour scheme and bronze accents but I would love to know the true cost you or I would have to pay if we rocked up with a bit of a shed and had all this work done by Aston Works.
Anyway a beautiful car

Watched it last night. Something about this guy I don't like but can't put my finger on it.
The car has been transformed and is a great advert for what Works can do. I personally like the colour however I'm no fan of the gold grill leading edge or the wheels. To me they've cheapened the overall look.
The restoration of the carbon is very good.

It will def be a freebie but it dies make you think about a purchase of a bog std car.
If you're looking to drop say £100k on a VH playgorm Aston it would be a pretty standard car very nice but pretty standard.
You could on the other hand buy a car that's oerhaos had a harder life for £50k , drop it aston works and say "here's £30k or £40k do your best" and have something truly bespoke and a 1 of 1.
Not sure how future value of something like that holds up but certainly an interesting thought process.

A full price invoice for that I reckon would be a minimum of £30 k and probably heading towards £40k
I’d like him to be honest and publish the paperwork or come out and say it’s a freebie on the basis it’s advertising for AM works.
I’ll not hold my breath.
I’d take a stab in the dark and say that with cars like the DB5 Continuation, Works don’t need publicity within those that actually own Aston Martins, and publicity with those that don’t wouldn’t be of any real benefit to them. Plus, as Works is part of the wider AML, I doubt that the HQ bean-counters would approve the expenditure at the moment.I’d like him to be honest and publish the paperwork or come out and say it’s a freebie on the basis it’s advertising for AM works.

fixed JWW’s name. Three letters and I get it wrong

His plate is naff.
Ouch!
Presumably the owner must be pleased with it.
Occasionally you see inexpensive 1994 registration marks, on classy, exotic cars, of a different year !
The ‘naff’ bit imo is the JB reference. Tbf there’s much worse,

Lol I suppose it depends on your definition of inexpensive.
I entered the 'game' decades ago, so registrstion marks were then not just inexpensive, but really cheap compared to today.
Now have a small collection of dateless registrations on cars, mostly letters preceding numbers.
I was not sharp enough though at that time, to buy a few DB5s when no one wanted them. -
If your own initials are AGM, then I think you might be out of luck with dateless plates, because possibly none were ever issued.
There are AM plates, but we know why they are sought after.
AM 270 is now on a German built car. Lionel Martin (at the wheel, photo below) might be appalled, considering the date of this photo.
It deserves to be on your Aston Martin.

Whilst it has been done beautifully, although the gold isn't to my taste, I have little respect to owners who just throw money at a car and do nothing themselves. Anyone with the money can do that like the tasteless footballer cars and it just ends up as a "pump my ride" project.
A bit like the "West Coast Customs" series where tasteless celebs, sports personalities and rappers ruin perfectly good cars. All credit goes to the skilled trimmers, painters and technicians who do the work though.
Effectively a brand new car entered into a Concours event??? That will cause some controversy!

I sort of agree with you , but I think he and other social media folk appeal mainly to the younger generation and maybe it would be seen as a channel to that generation.More likely to be (inadvertently) paid for by Mr JWW’s subscribers

Either way I’d suggest he or his channel have paid anything at all it’ll be nowhere near what you or I would read on the invoice.

It moves money from the hyper-paid fake-tanned celebs down to real people with actual skills though.A bit like the "West Coast Customs" series where tasteless celebs, sports personalities and rappers ruin perfectly good cars. I like the green, but would have silver or black wheels. The bronze badges and custom DBS logo work well with the green.
At least it's not lime green or bright pink!
There was a similar thread on here about Mr JWW etc at the end of May.

I doubt very much that Mr JWW has funded this process himself, but as discussed I can’t see why AM Works need him as a conduit for publicity regarding their work. As I said before, I found the whole process fascinating and I really like the green paint. Not so keen on the wheels though.
