2008 Aston Martin vantage Volanti 4.3L - usual roof problem
Discussion
Hi All,
I have the usual electrical problems associated possible associated with the CRM (convertible roof problem}.
Before rushing off to gat a new module fitted I would like to eliminate other possible issues.
so far I have bought a new battery but that has not solved the problem.
If I charge the car fully and immediately start the car the roof works fine along with everything else.. However after a period I start the car and the roof will not work and i get the fully illuminated dash board and it keeps telling me to stop the car before the roof will work.. This is despite me not moving an inch. Why does the roof work with a fully charged battery but not for long.
So my next thought is do I have a battery drain such as from an old tracker module.. I am going to do drain test to see if that tells me anything'
Whatever the end problem is I will have to visit a Aston Martin agent such as Banfords to either to disconnect the tracker or to flash a new CRM module ..My problem is how to I get down there with the car acting up.. I believe I can disconnect the CRM which will allow me to drive the car without all the lights and nothing working such as lights, speedo, indicators or anything else for that matter..
Any help would be appreciated.
Tony O'Brien.

Just take the fuse out and everything should work as normal apart from the roof operation. So long as it is a ROADSTER

Following Branford Rose video regarding draw from a defunct tracker. I have tested for parasitic draw on my NatWest when the has been at test over night and forts light are off I am getting about 1.92 milliamperes which seem higher than a car at rest . Is this normal for an Aston Martin or do I have a potential problem.
At the moment I have the fuse f69 pulled as I have a suspected convertible roof module problem at the moment. If anybody can advise or help it would be appreciated.

Ps I have stated 1.92 milliamps but that my wrong unit but it 1.92 on the multi meter

Hi, new to the forum (as a poster) but have read several threads around the Roof Control Module for my 08 Vantage!
Pretty sure it’s to blame for all my electrical gremlins so looking to order replacement RCM - however, where most posts state cost in the region of £500, I’m only seeing it now for £1,099+vat! Granted that the £500 is a dated price but wondered if the £1,099 is accurate? Anyone else had to replace their RCM recently?
All guidance welcomed!
