A brace of Astons
Discussion
Thought I'd share these with you lot.
My father-in-law's best mate used to work for the Sultan of Brunei and over the years has bought a number of cars from the Sultan's stock, including these two 'beauties'(it's in the eye of the beholder, apparantly ;))

He also had a Viper GTS and an NSX from the Sultan as well, both with under 1000 miles on them. Silly bugger sold them.
The Fezza is a rare one, he did tell me what it was, but cant remember now...308BB? Would that be right?
512BB?
Love the Zagatos' consecutive plates as well!!!!!!
Does that look like a Mythos in the garage to anyone else???
Not hugely.
It was designed to replace the 365GTB/4 (Daytona - which itself was allegedly a stop gap between the 275GTB and Ferrari's first mid-engined road car, the 365BB).
But as with most things Ferrari, the first ones weren't all that. I believe they were slower than the Daytona...with Lambo upping the ante (Miura, Countach), this wasn't on.
The 512BB replaced it after not very long, basically upping the ante on power etc to try to redress the balance. Think these are about the same sort of speed as a Daytona (most speed claims from that era were over egged - think the Daytona was properly quickest for quite some time).
They do look quite nice though. 365's having triple rear lights, 512s having doubles.
Not keen on the Volante, but the Vantage Zagato doesn't look half as bad as I thought it did 15-20yrs ago. Think Rowan Atkinson had one.
Wonder how much they change hands for these days...

I don't like the way AM changed the front end of the Volante version. Covering the headlights, doing away with the traditional grill etc.
I saw Rowan Atkinson racing a red V8 Vantage Zagato a few years ago. I was told he owned the car.
