So, finally hooked up an OBD reader to check to see what errors came up.

Seems to be 2 error codes thst could be culprit:
P0115 steering angle sensor (SAS) CAN timeout
P0148 steering angle sensor (SAS) wrong identifier

When I turn steering wheel the angle changes, so bit confused....

Anyone know anything about them ? Wheel sensors, brake pedal sensor, yaw sensor seem to be ok (I.e. no fault codes showing)

You have recorded them, so now clear them and see if they come back. They may be transients.

I've already cleared them and done that. They've come back so know it's not a glitch.

I believe some of these mission-critical systems have error-checking routines built in, where the sensor sends more than one signal that the ECU checks and compares to ensure it's reading a consistent value. It's possible that the sensor is sending a steering angle, which is what you may have seen change, but the signals from the sensor that the ECU is reading are inconsistent in some way, so it throws an error code.

Possibly yes, think it's time to get it properly diagnosed. I'll have to arrange getting it booked in snd see what they say.

I know it’s a long shot reviving the old thread, did you ever get to the bottom of these? Getting the same error on my 2009 Sportshift Coupe.
