HI,

Ive got a 09 V8V

I have a Bovee bluetooth adaptor connected to the 32 pin iPod connector in the car : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bovee-Wireless-Bluetooth-...

This allows me to bluetooth music to the stereo system. This had been working fine for almost 3 years. But recently stopped working. Now i get an error saying iPod unreadable (see photos in imgur link below)

At first i thought it might be the Bovee so i unplugged it and re plugged it to power cycle it but to no avail.

The next thing i tried was using the USB adaptor to play music, by connecting my iPhone cable to the USB port. but i get the same error.

Any ideas ?

If it won’t play via the USB port either, it sounds like the problem may be with the phone? Is it a new handset or the same one that has been working for the last three years? Have you recently done a software update on it? I know that an iPhone won’t allow streaming if there is no paid for iTunes content on it too. Might be worth doing a forced power down and reboot on the phone first, and also make sure it’s unlocked when you connect it to the car. Sometimes that can be an issue too.

Hope that helps

Best Regards

Make sure you have iTunes installed on phone and at least 1 track downloaded. Don’t ask me why.

Do you mean iTunes or “music” I think that’s what they call it now on iOS ?

THANKS !!

that worked and has enabled me to play music from Spotify over the Bovee too

Only thing that dosnt work is the next track option on the cars wheel (although on the dashboard it works) not sure why as I would have thought they are just different interfaces for the same function

also if I try to play a video the Bovee just keeps pausing it after 1 second (maybe if I download a video via the movies app) my guess is it’s something to do with copyright protection that I he Bovee keeps triggering but if you download some Apple media content they unlock the copyright block

Does the above have a mode switch like the Invery? It sounds like you may have the switch in the wrong position?

Yes need Apple Music App (was iTunes) installed and at least one song downloaded.

Reason being the handshake protocol for Bluetooth audio from an Apple device is setup to automatically play first track on your playlist.

Don’t ask me why, I wish to god they would change it. I use Waze for sat nav in my vantage and would live the option of not having music on, I’ve tried play as telephone call in Waze and playing through the telephone connection but volume control becomes an issue then and there’s a bit of perhaps static like noise.

I did have it working with an automation that would pause music as soon as it connected to the Bovee (invery is same just diff branding) and it worked great at first till it didn’t and I can’t seem to get it to work again no matter what I do.
