Looked like lots of fantastic old cars were being sold off.

If I could have found a parking space I would have stopped for a nose.

You shoudl have stopped. It was free entry, and great fun.

Bonhams wanted £25 for the brochure, which then enabled you to get a numbered paddle to bid. Worringly, there was nothing to stop a someone bidding the items up to a very high amount, and then walking away unaccountable.

Prices were steep, though: top price was £269,000 (plus 15%) for a DB6 short-chassis Volante with Vantage engine.

And a hard-top (hard-top, mind you) for a DB5: £29,000.

The poster I had on my wall as a boy went for over £200. Another I had went for £80 (both in frames). Oddly, if you went to the Gents you saw the exact same posters, in frames hanging on the wall. The mind boggles.

I have all four posters, so I dont know what they would be worth as a set. As indeed I have the poster for the 10 Astons for sale.

Crazy prices, great day out

It was a great day out. It really was amazing to see a hard top for a DB5 (shipped over from the US and damaged!!) go for £29,000 when a very presentable DB6 saloon car had just gone through at the same price!

The Hunter Green Commemorative Collection Astons looked fantastic and I would love to have been able to buy the V8 Vantage Saloon (with 796 miles on it) that went for £120,000 plus costs.

I have a couple of pictures, but can't seem to work out how to get them pasted on the site (others seem to manage it okay).
