Just got myself a 06 vantage v8. The only thing I can’t figure out is the trip computer.the right hand screen stays on speed and won’t display any other info. It will display info like door open and system check.but won’t cycle through other info when I press the button on my the end of the stalk. What am I doing wrong?

Welcome Phil.

We do like to see photos of new members cars, so please post. You should then receive lots of congratulations.

The actions which you describe are perfectly correct. Repeated pressing the button on the end of the left hand stalk, should display in turn several items of information.

Presumably there is a fault somewhere. I cannot help further, but if you do require a replacement stalk I recall someone saying it is from one if the Ford Fiestas.

Enjoy your car.

It’s a strange one.
I can only agree that it might indeed be the indicator stalk push button.
To check this, you could press the READ button and stalk push button together and see if the speed display changes from mph to kph. If nothing happens it will prove the stalk push button is faulty.
Keep us posted👍

Ok just tried the read button and stalk button and nothing happens.
Found a stalk on Aston website £48 or one on a ford parts site same part number £9.99.
Anyone have any idea how difficult it is to fit one

If you bought the car via a dealership then ask them to fix it.

Yes came from dealer.and I am sure they would fix no problems.
But it’s a two hour trip.so if it The stalk is an easy job to replace I will have a go myself

If you want to do it yourself Phil, look in the new topic today, about workshop manuals.

I had a quick look. Vantage S / Steering Wheel / Stalk for indicators.

It looks as though the outer shroud piece might be a fiddle, but once inside it appears easy to replace.

I noticed mention of turning the steering wheel, so you might want to lift up the front wheels to avoid any strain on the steering system. That needs care because the jacking points are in a very specific positions (alloy chassis). I dont know how to safely support one side of the car after jacking up, so that the same jack to then be used to lift the other side of the car.

There is a topic on here about rubber jacking pads, which fit into the jacking points. They are good.
