It is getting around to time to change my front brake pads on my V12 Vantage S. The pads available from AM are not pre-bedded in and require the aggressive bedding in procedure after firmest. My question is, is it worth replacing the rear pads at the same time so as not to need to bed them all in again?

Sorry, no idea, but...

Could you tell me please, what mileage have you done on these pads?

I am coming up to 34k and I believe them to be the original pads, as I am the second owner from 13k miles. The pad with backing plate thicknesses are still greater than the minimum 11mm, and the warning light has not illuminated on the dashboard. Just planning as it is on the horizon...

The Bamford mechanic returned with a huge grin on his face, minus 1/4 of a tank of fuel after bedding in new front pads on my V12S.
I didn't ask what it actually entailed laugh

My car is in the shop currently, one of the reasons is for a new set of brake pads on my dbs. As mentioned above I went with the pagid rsc1 setup. I’ll report back with how they perform next week. They seem to be the only aftermarket option at this time and are roughly 2/3 the price of oem. The reviews I’ve seen say they don’t squeak which is a nice benefit given the noise my oem pads emit.

Are you replacing the front and rear pads or just the front?

Sorry for the thread resurrection but I'm looking into this atm. I'm leaning towards the pagids as have read good things but some outlets state them as 'race/track' only and not for street use? I'm thinking they might not work very well unless up to temp (like most ceramics) and may sufffer that initial 'dead' feeling at the top of travel. How did people who used them find them?

Also does anyone know if the braking system is the same on V12VS as on earlier V12V (and DBS / later DB9s) or are there differences when the S was introduced? I've read all the redpants articles and checked all the part numbers and they appear to be same but the Brembo and Pagud websites arent the best so i'm not sure!

Any help appreciated

I mounted the Pagid RSC1 several weeks ago and didn't notice any difference to the original AM brake pads. The only 'disadvantage' is the supplement foil on the back of the pad on the AM pads, which the Pagids don't have. But the brakes don't squeal and leave a very shiny surface on the brake discs. So a +++ from me.

I don't know how much manufacturer in the world do these brake pads, but there aren't much. And I could find only Pagid as a manufacturer of the pads. So maybe they do also the original pads ?

Thanks for the feedback Olli, was that on an original V12V or newer V12V S ?

Yes, sure....AM did improve the discs and the pads over the time, but the form factor stayed the same all the time.
