The AM dealers have been calling the first customers to arrange visits and spec choices today :-)))))

I was notified by mr Shady and shortly afterwards had a call from my dealer.

I'll ask but I'm assuming they will be tight on numbers.

It's in the post apparently. £79,950 is the basic. A fully fettled one with all the right bits is looking like £85,000.

I was told that if you wanted one of the first batch it would need to be spec'd on the day.

Is this another case of varying information?

Like the DB9 the first 4 or 5 cars from every dealer will have 'Aston Martin' Spec on them, but your own choice of colours. This is done so they can easily iron out and faults with the first 50 or so production models.
I did this on my DB9 and was very happy with the spec.
This time I decided to wait, so I could choose everything myself.

I don't think this is standard spec. I have been told that I can choose any option I want, but the decision has to be made there and then as the order will be going in and the process of manufacture (ordering of parts paint etc) will be taking place.

I think I 'll do some checking.....

I'd have thought it wise to tick most of the options:

* Full leather
* 19" wheels
* Sat nav
* Xenons

Etc.

Never mind the fact these should be standard on an £80k car

Oh, and my favourite colour on the DB9 is Oyster silver (I assume that'll be available on the V8). Inside, I'd have black leather with red stitching and piano black on the centre console wood.

It'd look rather nice in black too. Or BRG.

Hi rich - is that the LOI or the deposit that you placed in Jan 2003? Just want to work out how many more months I have to wait
