I was out on my favourite A and B road loop last weekend in my 996 (18" Wheels and normal suspension). I was having my usual fun as a mate of mine was following behind in his 360 CS. I was maintaining a good speed as usual but my mate in his CS was nowhere to be seen. Talking this through with him later and he said his car was all over the place and was not really designed for B-roads or even A roads for that matter. Anyhow this got me thinking about my experience with the AMV8 at the motorshow. The car is very very stiff and apparently there is no bushes mounting the subframes to the monocoque, cool I thought, that means that the suspension will be doing all the work and not any flexing from the car. But then I tried to bounce the car, it did not move, it was very very stiff on it's springs. This obviously will make it quick on the track but not as much 'fun' on A and B roads, as it will loose traction and skip on all the bumps. I will be spending much more time with the car on A and B roads than on track, so I just hope the chassis is OK for this and Aston have not gone too Hardcore.

Has anyone else been thinking this? I dont want to spend all that cash in October (fingers crossed) and find out that my 996 is more fun.

There was a great photo of one of the AMV8 prototypes at the 'Ring, just entering the carrasel (sp!)......and the car's soooooooo stiff the inside front wheel doesn't touch the tarmac.

I'm guessing the AMV8 will be more focused than the GT-like DB9....a little more hardcore if you like, but I don't think it should be "clubsport" hard if you know what I mean.

Best way to find out is with a test drive.....if you can find a dealer willing to organise one.
