Aston's big day out
AM holds St George's Day parade at Windsor
The Aston Martin Owners Club (AMOC) is organising a weekend of activities to coincide with St. George's Day.
According to AMOC, 200 or more of the cars, from the earliest to the very latest, together with former world-famous racing cars and cars from James Bond films will assemble in Royal Windsor on Saturday 23 April. They will then slowly motor to Windsor Castle, through St. George’s Gate into the Royal Quadrangle passing a saluting Dais and thence slowly out of the Castle into “Frogmore”.
A very special feature of this parade, said AMOC, is that it will be led all the way by St. George himself! On arriving at “Frogmore”, there will be time to relax and enjoy socialising with other Aston owners.
Public admission for the price of a £5 souvenir programme will allow the rest of us will be admitted to review the cars. There follows an equestrian and military display put on by The Light Cavalry of The Honourable Artillery Company, after which the Astons will take an escorted drive through Windsor Great Park.

Not that English though is it? AM is owned by the Americans, run by a German who is taking engine production away from England and giving it to his Germany, designed by a Scot.
Your right you know, they should have kept the whole lot as it was and then Aston could have gone under years ago instead of reaching the new heights it has now.
Dr Bez deserves a medal for what he has done.
Doesn't matter who runs it, where the bits are made or who designs it, Aston Martin is as English as it gets !!

The cars will be available for viewing at Frogmore from 2pm. Frogmore is just off the Long Walk (behind the castle) which can be accessed off the High Street. It will be clear to see where to go.
I would just park anywhere in the town centre - Windsor gets busy at the weekend so I`d be tempted to get there early-ish, there`s plenty of other things to look at!

Excellent Many thanks for the info. Not sure whether to take Lotus or not yet.

Aston Martins
Great pictures, thanks for posting. Some intersting models there as well. For 10 points, what is the open 2 seater "DOR 982 C", bodied as a DBR1, and the model of the blue car, first page, top right, reg 50 TJX.
Correspondance and bribary will be entered into
I`ve always been an Aston fan, but the thing that struck me was how fantastic looking the vast majority of Astons are! In fact, bar some of the bloated Virage variants, there wasn`t a bad looking car there (and yes, I include the Lagonda`s!).
It seemed a very well organised (and stylish) event that did credit to the AMOC. The only problem from my perspective is that it has re-ignited (in a big way) my latent desire to own an Aston. Oh dear.
