Hi all,

Was down in Leeds yesterday looking at potential next purchase, had seen the new V8 Vantage and seriously interested. But was told that orders are already full till 2009???? Is this correct???

Oh, any thoughts on DB7GT, things to look out for etc?

Cheers,

Blot

Yes, until they start depreciating the moment you drive one off the forecourt at which stage end buyers/users shouldn't have a problem getting one. Unfortunately who knows when that will be?

What do you mean by end users/buyers? I heard the term applied to software but never cars? I certainly intend to "use" the one I am on the waiting list for but I am in some way not an end-user or buyer in your terminology? Rich...

I use the term end user/buyer to differentiate between those people who will buy the car to use as opposed to those who have orders at 20 different dealerships to sell on at a profit.

If you really want one then put your order in. Most of the orders so far are from speculators as well as the usual buyers. So you may well just shoot up the list when the cars start coming online and there is the full wack to pay. Unless these speculators already have a buyer (which I'm sure the first year or so will have) you'll be looking to get yours soon after.

Was quoted a new DB9 for delivery mid Spring, mind you the Volante still has a 2 year back log!

most speculators? No possible way!

What you may notice is that in the last 2 years circumstances change of those on the list and some drop out.

When I ordered mine and paid the deposit, I had to sign to confirm that I hadn't ordered a car from another dealer (or the deposit could be lost). I would have thought that the details go to AM head office.....but I guess there are ways round everything if speculators try hard enough.

My Dealer said that I could place as many deposits as i liked when my LOI was converted to an order.

If I wanted a volante flappy box as well as a Coupe Manula I would go to the position in that list based upon my LOI date. Didt appear to be an issue in me ordering 10 cars if I wished.

I ordered mine in Jan 2002 and was recently told I can expect it in 2007

I had hoped my order was early enough to get delivery next year, obviously not.

I put 5K down in June 2004, number 62 on his list of 165. All having paid 5K. Told me that production will start in October 2005, and I can expect my car April May 2006. Paramount Cars. He also stated catagorically that unless the deposit had been paid there will be many disappointed people who beleive they are due a car early by simply registering a letter of intent.
