As many of you know, the DB9 is no longer being produced. Will the price rise as a result of this?

No, there are thousands of them out there, not iconic nor particularly sought after, great cars though, I'd love one ....

They are still a rare sight on the road, I've had one for 4 years, it has more or less held its value over that time, so who knows what the future could hold, hopefully they will continue to hold their value.

This I don't disagree with, holding its value, whilst funding its upkeep is a long way from it appreciating, but in my view still a great position to be in as makes cost of running it the cost of ownership, I just get tired of this whole will it appreciate crap, just makes me think it's actually unaffordable.

As the DB9 replaced the DB7, perhaps look at DB7 values.

On second thoughts, just enjoy your car, tell yourself it is a keeper and so then value becomes an irrelevance.

I didn't say anything about it appreciating, overall though the running & maintenance costs have not been to bad, as I have had no issues with it at all. Much better of than buying a 911 which I did previously, paid similar money for it as the Aston & lost over £25k in depreciation over a similar period, ouch! The Aston maybe has lost £5k.

I thought I would lose loads on the Aston, but it's not been the case, a pleasant surprise.

Hear, hear! Even when they appreciate to silly money it's still just paper money of you never intend to sell it. Just drive and enjoy is my motto.

Do you worry slightly though Rich, as the value has become so high?

Nope. What is there to worry about?

Good to hear.
I cannot really answer your question.
Presumably best to think like the racers at Goodwood. A grid full of GT40s, with every car being driven at 10/10ths.

It's a car, it gets used, indeed driven hard. I spent several hours on track at Monza in it once and left most of the tyres behind, just buy more. It went in a ditch once in France - oops, no damage though other than some exhaust mountings, got it fixed. It's there to enjoy not look at. Not that I've seen it for 5 months, it's away getting an engine rebuild. So ironically at the moment I would love just to look at it! hehe

I wouldn't put too much store on it. There's a reasonably priced DB7 for sale in our country that has been constantly advertised for sale for a couple of years now... maybe the best indicator of that model's popularity.

Mind you, buying Rowan Atkinson's DB7 might be an investment of sorts.

Hi

Apologies, the appreciating comment wasn't aimed at you, more for the OP, I think if as you have done you have flatlined on value then thats a great place to be, maybe nows the time smile

I’ve had my 2005 DB9 for close on 5 years and retail they are still fetching the price I paid in 2011. So technically it hasn’t gone up in value and neither has it gone down.

However, if say you want to trade up to a DBS the recent AM dealers I contacted offered trade in value’s that will make your eyes water…
