The March Car also has a big piece on it, although this covers the cold weather testing in the prototype cars. Still looks gorgeous though

Well I've read it twice, and it's worth the entrance fee. Especially for anyone with one on order.

Particularly nice pic of the front 3/4 view taken in Sweeden on page 78 I thought

Is the Evo article the production car or are they test prototypes?

It's the prototype (the last) - and really just a long 'how it was developed' thing. So we'll have to wait a good while before the guys can thrash it and give an honest opinion.

If you're in the queue though... this is well worth a read.

Sounds like the Car article.

I can't wait to see some decent photos of the final production car. I guess these will appear at the same time as the start of the Geneva show.

I cant wait for the brochure, have you guys decided what colour combinations you'd like? I'm thinking titanium metalic with either black leather or ox blood red! So excited!

Nice colour combo

Not that I'm in the market (although I know the others posting here are!), I'd either go for:

Titanium
Black
Dark BRG

All with either black or cherry red interiors (or a combination of both!).

The Geneva show car is tipped to be metallic canary yellow

Got my copy of Evo yesterday. WOW!

A much better article than the Car one, much more in-depth. I'm glad to hear the insipid gold colour of the last prototype isn't going to be available on the production cars too

I know every new Aston is claimed to be the "best one ever" but I think this may may justify the claim. It'll have to go some to better the DB9, but judging by the amount of detailed development work it's received, the AMV8 may just do it.

Oh, and I loved the throw-away comment about a couple of DB9s and Vanqs being "fettled" in the development workshop. A DB9 GT on the way?!?

Anyway, that's one copy of Evo I'll be keeping forever.

Had a quick chat with my man at AML yesterday and he was telling me about some of the testing on the AMV8.
They have one scenario where the car is kept in a temparture controlled enviroment at -26. Started cold revved up to running temperature then left to cool down to minus 26 again. So far this one engine has done this test 3200 times (and counting) without breaking.
He also mentioned there looks like a possibility of a 'Supercharged' AMV8 within two years ?

I'm due for the 'slow' AMV8 in November, but already sent my letter in for the HOT one

The "hot" test is also pretty tough by all accounts. The cars were run at high speed in Dubai ( in 50+ degree heat) then parked up nose against a wall with the A/C on!!!!

As for the supercharged version.......you lucky blighters . There certainly appear to be more than a few rumours regarding its existance. Should you find it difficult to offload the "slow" ones when the time comes....lemme know

Glad they're having a supercharged version, but not what they are going to call it. Normally this would be known as the "Vantage", but sad that's being used for the base model (oh the humanity...) they'll probably call is the "S".

Why copy Porsche? An Aston is not a Porsche

They called the Vanquish S , because Vanquish Vantage is a bit of a mothfull and a kerfuffle.
So it sounds logical to call a hot version of the AMV8.... S , rather than Vantage vantage, which is even more of a kerfuffle.

I've just wet myself

Is there a separate order list for the supercharged one now? Only when I asked a few months ago, it was still only split between the coupe and the convertible.
