Don't get too excited.

Just browsing the Autotrader website and thought I'd stick in a search for an AMV8. Ignoring the William Towns V8s, there's one advert (AMT) for the brand spanking new AMV8 Vantage.......at only £60k.

Now this is either:

1 - The biggest premium I've seen in a long time.
2 - Just a way of getting you to call them (AMT) only to be told that's not the real price.
3 - AMT are selling it under list (yeah, right)
4 - This is the list price (yeah, right again).

The piccies on the ad are official AM ones of the concept.

My Autotrader website says £80,000 - sounds more realistic, but if this is genuine someone's taking a big gamble! I suspect this is just a 'come on' to generate interest in their site

I called AMT about the ad, and unfortunately the price is just an attention grabber!

They have 3 cars (well, delivery slots actually) for sale. The wont give a price yet, as AM havent even specified a price. They wouldnt even hint at what level the premium over list would be, but rest assured they arent doing this out of the kindness of their hearts - there WILL be a premium. And considering as the DB9's they have, are currently with a £25-30k premium, i'd say this aint a cheap way of getting an AMV8.

Oh, and they want a refundable £2k deposit to hold the slot for you.

LOL. Well its not all rosey.

If your a main dealer you have to have inventory. Commit to X number of cars. Showrooms of certain standard. Etc. All good if you just consider the F430 or DB9 or AMV8 in this case.

But what about the Vanquish, 575, 456, 612 (in not too long), DB9 (if it goes the way of the DB7).

Not everything walks of the shop floor.

And god forbid theres a recession.
