Rare Aston engine to be auctioned off

Tickford-prepared 6.3-litre V8 gets eBayed

A rare Tickford-prepared Aston Martin 6.3-litre V8 engine is going up for auction on eBay soon. It's one of only four built by AM while other three are believed to have gone to the Sultan of Brunei.

Current owner Steve Ellis said, "This engine deserves a good home." So don't forget set your eBay alerts to warn you when the engine goes onto the site.

Specifications

  • 6.3-litre V8
  • Tickford-prepared four-valve cylinder heads
  • Tickford eight-butterfly cross-ram injection
  • Carbon fibre trumpets and airboxes
  • ECU and dyno sheet

Would this fit in a Chimaera ?

That would be a dream car for me, my two favourite marques combined in one car.

Ultima would be nice . . .

Check this:

www.ultimav12.ca/

"The Beemer V12 Ultima was tested at Fontana raceway during the USCC. On a dusty dragstrip where a 840rwhp Viper did a 12.5 second run (it should have done mid 9's) the Ultima did a 12.1 second run, the rear wheels had poor traction till about 80 mph. With the 408 rwhp available the Ultima should run about 11.3 seconds @ 128 mph and do 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds."

So with the Aston lump it would do 0-60 under 3s . . .

It also says that he initially bought a 600hp small block chevvy engine before thinking about the Beemer one. What was wrong with the extra 200hp that would have given...
