Obviously I am a bit behind the times, and have only recently found out about Aston making a £ 70,000 car (which also happens to be the most georgeous car ever).

I have read elsewhere on this forum that even if you were to place an order now, you would be looking at a build slot in 2010

Therefore, if you were interested, and didn't already have an order in, the only way to get one quickly would be through an agent who have pre-ordered.

My question is, how much of a premium would you expect to have to pay ?

just noticed I got the AMV8 in the title wrong, but don't know how to chnge it

I would hazzard a guess at maybe 10k premium for the early one's. My boss is very interested if i don't take mine up.

And is £ 70k, a realistic price that they will sell for, or do you think they might well end up being nearer £ 85k due to demand, etc.

Knowing Aston and how they think. I would guess 70k Basic , nearer 75/78k with the extras.

My dealer told me that the company line has always been "price will be aimed at the top end of the 911 market"

Not Turbo but carrera 4S money . Add a little for limited numbers and the hand built label etc

I would think that your second guess is much more like it !

I've seen DB9's advertised for up to £135k (£103k list). This has settled now to around £120-125k, so I'd guess AMV8 Vantages should go for an easy £10k over list.....if not more.

Looks like I won't be getting one of them then. £70k maybe, nearly £100k no a f@cking chance

Got my slot now, need another slot as I know when it arrives my dad will want it, I know someone who is selling his slot, one of the first 40 cars in the country and he is asking for a 15k premium now! upto 5k now for a very early launch car is a good deal, if you wait till the cars are actually physically here supply and demand could mean paying upto 20k premium!

I'd get rid of it quick, there's talk of the car actually being called the DBV8 Rich...

I think the person that you know may well be "embellishing" upon the truth when he says one of the first 40 in the country.
My dealer has not even been told how many he will get a year and sayed that every dealership is in the same boat. If he has been told anything it may have been the Dealer saying that he is number 40 on that particular dealers list. P.S There are now over 100 dealers worldwide

Shady, will the AMV8 replace the DB9 or are you starting a collection of Astons?

I take it it's too early for you to have specced it yet? Any ideas what colours you'll go for?

BLACK and BLACK ! (my idea first Rich)

The idea was to have the '9' for a couple of years and then jump into the AMV8. That would hopefully mean not blowing any more cash on cars for a bit.
Pay the house off , then go silly again

Odds on that plan goes pear shaped and I get another car
