Spotted - four door Aston V8 ?
Discussion
Maybe I was a bit tired walking along Oxford Street this morning, but I saw what looked like a slightly stretched four door Aston V8.
Numberplate ANON, dark glass etc. Very strange, admitedly from a distance and with a squint it looked slightly like a Mark-III Cortina, Was I imagining it, or is this a well known car?
On a completely different note, I am a 928GT owner and just a little curious whether any Aston owners have come from 928's? Any interesting comparison's?

A four-door Lagonda was launched in 1974, but only seven were built. Looked like a stretched Aston V8, with a different grille (though strictly speaking it was the other way round - the Aston V8 was a shortened Lagonda).
There was also a prototype four-door DBS, MP230, which David Brown ran in 1969.
See page 99 of my book!

Aston also produced a 4 door Virage based Lagonda in the early/ mnid 90s.

Ahhh 4NON
I've seen that a lot in central london. It's owned by a big CEO who doesn't want fame... nice plate eh
There was a feature in Octane about it. It's had a full restoration with a different V8... its very reliable apparantly.
Not sure on more specific details, haven't got the mag to hand. Worth doing a search in archives though

I'll have to find that. Three of the seven cars are thought to have 7.0-litre Richard Williams engines, is it one of those?
There was also an eighth shell which Stratstone found a few years ago and were going to build up.

I can't remember which engine but it definitely had a modern engine and suspension. The interior was custom made with lots of 7in tv monitors etc.
Basically, the owner was wasting £50k a year in depreciation on Bentley Arnages so wanted a custom classic that he could drive daily. It cost in the region of £200k.
