Hi all

I've been lucky enough to have been given a signed photograph of Roy Salvadori in the DB3S (63 EMU). It's now proudly hung on the living room wall.

I'd love to know more about it but I am struggling on Google at the moment. I can find out loads about both car and driver but am I ever going to be able to find out about the photograph (without getting VERY lucky searching the internet)?

There are very few hints as to where it may have been taken. The car is sitting in front of its transporter with, what look like a couple of DB2/4s flanking it. I'm assuming it's at a track, but that's about it!

Roy's got a bottle of Real Ale in his hands (how very British!).

Anyway, I'd love to know more but will settle for the fact I know have a superb picture to be proud of - and it's already a talking point.

Cheers all.

Paul

You might have some luck if you post on the AMOC forum. It sounds like the era my Dad would recall - he did his apprenticeship at Astons starting in '51. He went to Le Mans as a race mechanic in '53 - and was driven back to Blighty by Reg Parnell in one of the team cars....

Take a photo of the picture, post it up here, and see if the assembled PH masses can help?

Both good ideas. I've briefly loitered on the AMOC site but never posted.

I'll also dig out the camera and try posting a piccie of the piccie

Cheers

Well, what a helpful lot they are over on the AMOC forum. Seems it might have been taken on 16th July '55 at Aintree when Salvadori won.
