Advice on new tyres please (sorry it’s probably a repeat question!)
It’s probably a subject done to death, but after a brief search I couldn’t find anything, so apologies if it’s a boring/repeat question!
Time to replace my rear tyres, currently running on Bridgestone... not impressed! On previous cars I’ve always gone with Michelin PS2s. What works well for the Db9 on the rear?

whats so bad about the bridgestones? are they terrible in the wet? or fall apart on trackdays or something?
just wondering whats so bad to make you experiment with other tyres ?
They just feel a little "undergrippy" compared to my previous experience with PS2s. I can say I had better traction with PS2s with 590bhp than the DB9 with bridgestones with just 450bhp. Other than that the Bridgestones perform well, I just feel PS2s will be better from my previous experience. Curious if others had changed away from bridgestonesjust wondering whats so bad to make you experiment with other tyres ?
well I guess if you want more grip you could stick on track spec rubber then, like the V12 Vantage, Pirelli Corsas... but then you get the downsides of those ...in an ideal world, we would all have 2 sets of wheels n tyres, and run sticky stuff in the summer and winter tyres in the winter. Its always a compromise
I think the issue for most people is you dont change tyres weekly or even yearly, then you compare your few year old worn out tyres, with some new rubber of a different brand and notice a good postive difference.... when its hardly surprising with new tyres compared to old, im sure new tyres of same brand would feel much better too
if you like PS2s on another car, then no harm in trying them - to be honest I dont think you find many high mileage Aston users or owners that are tracking their cars reguarly going through 4 sets a year...so some all round road biased tyres like the Bridgestones have been fine for the majority of use these cars get ....I bet some owners have never changed tyres in years as they do so little mileage

I have had RE050's on my last 6 cars as OEM fitment with no great issue, so long as you keep the pressure right and change them at 3mm
Like any performance tyre they don't like a lot of water or cold.
You ever experienced them on the V12s Mr K ??. Different reaction than on the V8s Like any performance tyre they don't like a lot of water or cold.
I've just put 2 new RE050s rears on the DB9 - 3 years and nearly 15,000 miles out of the first set. Fronts are ok for the moment.
Of course they bite me if I floor it in the wet. Other than that, no issues at all with Bridgestones

Great summary Appreciate the thoughts.
I will do about 35k a year in mine so probably 2 or 3 sets depending on wear. Will go for the PS2s next and feedback thoughts to all after they have been on for a while
