New V8V owner, let me introduce myself...
Discussion
I have just taken delivery (well last weekend) of my Meteorite V8V. Having been a long time fan of Jaeger-LeCoultre watches (I have five of them) and a long-time fan of Aston Martin cars, I was delighted to be offered the chance a couple of years ago to go to an AM driving day at Millbrook sponsored by JLC. My wife and I got to drive the DB9 and the V8V and also got driven around the short circuit in a DBRS.
After that day we hired out a Vanquish and decided that one day we would own our own AM. Well, that day came last Saturday when we found a 2007 V8V in the Meteorite Gray colour that we like with a low mileage at 14,500. A one owner car supplied and serviced by the AM garage from which we purchased it. We coudl only stretch to a 4.3 as the 4.7 prices were outside out budget, but whilst the gearstick needs more regular stirring I am happy with the performance (for now!). Definitely faster than my Audi S4 4.2 V8 that I traded in.
Already fallen in love with it and every day driving it opens up a new undersatanding of how to get the best out of it. Fuse 22 has been removed and it is booked in at AM Works Service for the by-pass switch to be fitted (so I can come home late at night and not annoy the neighbours and for more relaxed motorway cruising).
Definitely a car with foibles though. Got stuck in stop start traffic for 50 minutes last night and the tyre check system failure light and message came up on the dash. Called the dealer whilst sitting in the jam and was told that it is because the wheels were not rotating enough and once the traffic flows and I do about 200 yards without stopping it would go away, and lo and behold it did.
Also got a squeak from the rear when driving slowly, especially when cornering. Went back to the dealer and they road-tested it and said it is the rear handbrake pads. Apparently there is an upgraded pad that should cure the squeaking and they agreed to order them in and fit them free of charge for me.
So a happy first week of V8V ownership and looking forward to many more. Still reading the forum here as lots of good advice and tips in it, but thought an introduction was a good idea.

The Vantages are 10 a penny but 5 Jaegers... I am impressed!
What do you have? I've 2 JLCs currently, Reverso GranSport Retrograde Chrono and the Titanium AMVOX 1.
I find JLC fragile but beautiful, miss my Reverso Sun/Moon Grand Taille terribly - sold it to buy an old 911 of all things!
Welcome to Astoneering / Astonautics!

The EWC is far from fragile though. Been through the wars on my wrist. Had a tour of the manufacture a few weeks ago and these watches can take some punishment.

I love that one
My favourite and most worn watch. And most accurate. After five years it was put on the monitor at the London boutique and the rate was +1 sec/day and the amplitude was 279 (about the same as when new). The calibre in the EWC is one of the best JLC has ever made.Simon
Pics will follow. Here is the the dealer pic to be going on with:
Got a nice spec with the electric memmory heated seats, Xenons, heated windscreen, film over the paintwork amongst others that I can't now remember!
Well I am hoping that this revised pad from the factory may help, but then again I don't know when it was revised so you may already have it. I was told it keeps the pad further away from the disc.
I guess I can live with a squeak though - I can't really hear it with fuse 22 removed!!

Where are the pictures ? It's the law
Welcome to Aston ownership and to the forum. Beware of the pi$$ taking and general merriment around these parts . It seems to be that Astoneers are happy with their lot.
Oh and did I mention. WHERE ARE THE FECKING PICTURES.

welcome to the club ...I’m sure you will have great fun with your new purchase......I also have purchased a new watch today....but I’m afraid it’s a boring Rolex......and on the very positive side just found out my vintage 1972 Rolex Submariner is worth 6x what I paid for it....not that I wish to sell it
enjoy your new fabulous car
