This is odd, I created a thread about this earlier today and can't find it anywhere. I think old age is setting in. Does this mean I need to sell the Vantage and get a DB9? biggrin

Anyway, I have a rattling sound that the OH swears is coming from the passenger air vent on my V8V. She says it sounds like a loose fan but we can hear it irrespective of whether the aircon is on or off and whether the vent is open/closed. It seems to be prevalent only when moving.

I've searched the Aston forums and have found a thread on here where someone mentions that it could be a loose vent cover but my good lady is adamant that the sound seems to emanate from within the vent.

Has anyone else had anything like this and can shed some light on it please?

No light to be shed but I also have the same rattle! I'll probably just get the vent changed out unless someone smart can tighten it up with the panel off. Can't see where the rattle is though and the vanes still point where I aim them so not loose like the DB7 ones became...

Depending on the type of rattle, there might be a leaf in there, I've had that on other cars but probably too many filters to pass through on an AM.

It must be a bloody loud rattle if you can hear above your exhaust!

It has come up on 6 Speed.
Apparently some screws behind the vent work lose.
I think I may have it on my S as well frown

No need to move to the dark side just yet wink

Di, I do hope it isn't the dreaded mouse as I didn't't tick that option when I bought the car! biggrin

Di.... just looking at your strut brace, is it scratched? I ask because mine is too, probably worse than that though...

I don't think its scratched if you take a close look at yours. There was someone on here who had the same problem and he found it was the heat/sound shield leaving a residue. Cant think who it was ( painted vents I believe) . Anyway he had the shield removed.

My OH just got some Autosol on it and it came up perfect. Funnily enough, we've not been troubled since though it looked horrid to start with before he cleaned it.

Had same issue on mine with the internal bonnet padding leaving a mark. I have used a similar product to Autosol and it soon looks 100% again.
