My AMV8 has 38k on it and is due a major service. Been quoted £900 from JCT in Leeds. Does that sound about right? It was non negotiable by the way!! If not do you know where I can get better value near Leeds, and keep using the same trusted dealer?
Thanks

I went through the same comparison and Stratstone of Wilmslow was £25 cheaper, and they do a price match. They guarantee to be the cheapest Aston Martin dealer within a 5 mile radius.

That did it for me, I went to Stratstone

Within a 5 mile radius? How many dealers are there exactly?

Thanks for info, does the £900 seem reasonable? If it is just a difference of £25 then I will take it there.

What actual service is the car due , sounds like a fourth year service .

If thats the price for that inclusive then its pretty good .

You haven't said which service is due. There are different schedules so different pricing.

If it's the 4th year service then £900 isn't too bad. For the 5th year service then it's a bit expensive. etc.

For comparison my nearest dealer on the south coast has started this reduced price allegiance scheme.

Very pleased I saw this as my next service will be a 'cheap' one - can you tell me or PM which dealer this is.

many thanks

I think the last comment kind of sums it up! A major service is still struggling to justify £900 ! I know these are fabulous cars but to change the oil on a fiesta or a AMV8 is a similar process?!!
I love the car and know it needs maintaining and comes with a cost, if you all think £900 is par for the course, then my good lady can do without caviar this week! We all need to make small sacrifices!!

I really can't see how a service can cost £900 quidconfused

No spark plug change
No cam belts...

So what do they do for £900??

What is your car?
Everybody says you must have it serviced at a main dealer or the depreciation is affected?
Your right. No more than three hours work plus parts!!

A question here for blackie1 if he doesn't mind.
My 05 DB9 is due it's 7 year service in April, however it's only done 35,000m , looking at the above table it's looking costly. Now it's still under the extended AM warranty so it'll be going to my nearest main dealer but how much lattitude do i have in your opinion for negotiation regarding reducing the price, I plan on taking my own oil which a lot of others are doing to save costs but I'm sure other savings on non essential work like hub refurbishing and valeting could be made but where are they.

Is your three hours of service including the 140 point check that all AMs get at service? No, didn't think so. Ask for a breakdown of what you get and bear in mind 1hrs labour = 1hrs labour. Whether you agree with the cost of that labour charge is up to you, but it is fixed.

Ask for corners to be cut... well be it on your own head, I am happy to pay for all the checks by a garage I trust.
