Open bonnet, attach charger to terminals marked for charging / jump starting.

You can also get emergency power packs that plug into the cigar light socket. That would at least give you juice to open the boot. I woudln't recommend trying to start the car using one though.

If you are handy, you could use a spare battery (or even a DC transformer to provide power to the cigar lighter socket.

The best thing, if you have time, is to charge the battery as Neil recommends.

Is it a V8V or a DB9?

The battery won't charge doing what has been suggested. when the battery gets very low it isolates itself and you need to press the reset button (under the OS rear seat bolster, through a hole you'll see a red button, press this once, on a DB9, not sure on yours), then attach the + on the charger to the + post under the bonnet and the - to any well earthed bit of metal. On a DB9 is suggests the alternator mounting bracket.
Thats the same wether jump starting it or charging it.

Good luck

Charger from Lotus dug out Of cellar and left on charge. Bonnet shut, car cover on and hoping it doesn't rain! Off to work, using iPhone all day instead! Thanks all. Called JCT but the didn't mention reset button. It's N400

There's only one terminal - the positive one. You have to connect the negative end to the alternator casing.

Or ring Aston Assistance whistle

You need to reset the battery or it won't be charging. Oh and be careful opening and closing the doors as the window drop won't be working either.

Good to know. Would one still be able to power the doors / boot through the cigar lighter though?

What is the purpose of the isolation switch? To prevent deep discharge?

Ok where is the reset on the Vantage? Above is for DB9. Thanks again.

If you have the later glass ECU, inserting it in it's slot resets the battery. If you have a key the reset button is under the shelf behind the seats - Right side I think.

Just looked in my 2009MY manual and no mention is made of a reset switch. Perhaps this was deleted.

What year is yours?

So if you have the ECU you can just charge or jump start the car directly?

May 2008 car. Physical key. No Idea what a 'glass ECU' is so presume I don't have one. So I'm looking for a button somewhere near the battery under the parcel shelf. Will look when I get home later today. If anyone can post a photo of the reset button in the V8V that would be great.

Thanks everyone.

Went back to the car at lunch after 3.5hours on charge and boot opened, dashboard has lights and glovebox opened :-)

So my conclusion is that there is no reset button on an 08 Vantage. Checked the manual and it doesn't mention one either.

Leaving the charger on until I go to bed this evening, I will try and start the engine tomorrow morning.

My only concern is maybe the boot, glovebox, dash is working because battery plugged into mains so it's that powering the functions not the battery - is that possible, or does the functionality returning mean the battery is charging? Or is there still a dreaded reset switch?

No reset switch from 08 onwards, but not sure which model year. Not with my car so can't check my manual at the moment to tell you where the reset button would be on earlier models.
Battery will need charging before it will crank the engine over, but smaller electrical items will work.

Reset button on MY07 and earlier is in a cleverly concealed recess in the face of the bulkhead behind the drivers seat (at foot level if it had a seat).
If there is no recess there, you ain't got one!

Nope
The manual and AM assist say put the jump leads/booster on and leave for 5 mins to put enough charge back in for all the modules to power back up properly. If you don't the voltage spikes can kill modules.
