I thought I was being clever and I looked up how to find my car's paint code at the front-right of the engine bay so I went to look and all I found was this sticker:

Without having a clue what format a paint code normally takes, is that it? 6G33-8C363-EA

If it isn't, is anybody able to guide me to somewhere I can find what Glacial Blue on a V8V is online? Or perhaps how I should find out from the car?

Many thanks!

Seems there are 2 according to Jockman's favourite paint code website.

Glacial blue - http://cdb.dupontrefinish.info/en/Formula.mvc/5163...

Glacial blue II - http://cdb.dupontrefinish.info/en/Formula.mvc/5257...

Oh dear at there being two, that's going to make life difficult although I'd suspect it's 'II' (the newer one?)

I'm pretty sure my paint code (Meteorite) is 1344.

I think the 6G33 xx code is a part number.

Sounds more than likely.

Does anybody know where exactly the details with the paint code can be found? I agree with George that it's not certain to just guess!

Found it, it's written on the VIN plate I think.

(Although I'm not going to post a picture of that, just in case)

Remove the big cover above rad and it is usually on a sticker on the top of the rad.

That sounds OTT for me. Can I ring a dealership? Would they be able to look it up or something?

What are those things in the little pocket of the leather bit of the manual? Like little card things with colours and numbers on. Are they something to do with the paint code?

Glacial blue doesn't sound like a good colour for a sports car!

I wouldn't trust them to know
Honestly it is a 5 minute job to remove it and confirm via the stick put on the car when it was painted wink

That would require me to source a screwdriver I'm guessing? (Yes I'm a beginner), I'll take a look tonight.

Good god Shmee, I thought I was bad (had to call Aston assistance for a flat battery paperbag ), but every man should have a good set of tools!

Btw, I think it's either a torx or allen key you need smile

tongue out

It was sort of a joke, although I am not remotely going to pretend I'm good at this stuff. Actually I did a self-install of a bluetooth kit into the back of a radio in a BMW so that wasn't too bad.

Not really, off on Wednesday evening/early Thursday. Won't know until Friday evening I think! A lot of it is weather dependent and it keeps changing for the Alps for this weekend.

Just checked but it's no more specific than Glacial Blue.
