Hi, can someone please post up a photo of inside their fuel flap, particularly where the drainage hole is?
Thanks

Thanks for the pictures and time taken to take and post them. smile
In drcarrera's photo at the bottom in the middle is a plastic tube with three holes in the top.
What is this for and what is the correct position exactly for this piece?
Thanks

My pic is in the correct orientation, so I always thought that was the drain for water that got under the filler flap as it was at the lowest point, but thinking about it now why would it have that rubber top on it? Perhaps it's a the breather for the filler pipe?

From personal experience it's a filter, albeit a fair coarse one. The filler flap on my old coupe used to fill with water slightly in heavy rain; upon investigating the plastic thing was quite sludged up inhibiting decent drainage. I can only assume the plastic thing provides some protection from the drain hole/pipe becoming blocked.

Yep it's to stop the drain hole from getting bunged up, you can remove it and clean it out, as ar as I know there is no correct position for it to go.

Thanks for the replies. I guess looking at the picture it fits just inside the hole and sticks up quite alot. Just wanted to make sure as didn't fancy pushing it in along way!

I'm glad that you've explained why you wanted these pictures, I was just wondering what was happening to this site when people were being asked to swap photos of their car's orifices. It felt like it might be a trend I didn't really want to follow laugh
