Taking the Vantage over to France to stretch it's legs :-). Not keen on the headlamp deflectors and reading the handbook it suggests taking the car to main dealer to have lights realigned. Being on Guernsey that's not so easy, so does anyone know if this a simple task ?

Headlamp deflectors don't work with xenons in any case.

Very simple.
Buy beam deflectors, don't fit them!
If stopped by the French police, show them the beam deflectors if they make a fuss and pretend to stick them on.
otherwise its wheel off, to get at the deflector switch

Yeah, I wouldn't bother. But if you do want to, the HID have a switch that you can access through the wheel arch lining. Makes the beam pattern flat like this:
