Just seen a video released by Aston Martin of the Zagato on the move - at Millbrook??

Shame about the music but the car looks fantastic imo - the colour is stunning contrasting very nicely with the snow. All they need to do is loose the music and let us hear the car!!

Hope that I got the link right wink

Would be better if they replace the cheesy music with a roaring V12 smile

Some DB7 Zags had "stick ons". Not sure it's allowed now though. scratchchin

I won't say too much because I love everything about Aston Martin and much about the new Zagato. I also have great admiration for anyone that buys one.

But I'm really struggling to see what you're getting for the extra money over the V12 Vantage. I can't imagine exclusivity being worth that much to me. Even in a Euromillions scenario, I'd have a OneSevenSeven in a heartbeat but I can't see one of these ending up in my fabulous new garages. 'Muscle' pattern leather stitching is not to my taste and the road car doesn't even sound any different to the V12 Vantage, nor do you get so much as 1 more bhp for your extra £200k.

Easy--a much less attractive car.

Agreed. Personally, the whole car looks to be trying too hard and consequently goes O.T.T. I dislike the rear wing, looks like a Halfords after market addition. Although, at least the road car has smartened up the general appearance in the area of the exhaust pipes.

For £400k, I'm sure they will unbolt it and place it in the boot for you, perhaps stick some skateboard wheels on for free...

I like the Zag too.... Like the new colours they have brought-out for it as well. Dont like the price I'm afraid and cant see this car sprialing into the stratosphere of classic cars in 50 years time.

So, if the V12V is the DB4GT, the V12VZ is the DB4Z, I wonder what were going to get for the DB5?

I agree with Mr G, although I can't help but think I'd have a niggling disappointment in the back of my mind. It looks stunning, is exclusive and usually that would be enough but the brilliance of the V12V is its handling, performance and poise on the road - I can't see anyway that this would beat a V12V in any other way than exclusivity.

Let's face it, the donor care is hardly a minger, or common.

Talking of 'donor cars' - i wonder what Works Service (or other) would charge to put a Zagato body on a standard V12V? You hear of 'recreations' of the orginals, and can't imagine it would cost the differential that Aston are charging when a complete ground-up restoration of a classic is c.£250,000

As much as I like the Zagato, the price is daylight robbery in my opinion. I asked works service why it wasn't going to be spec'd up in any way compared to the standard V12V and the answer was that it would need to undergo a lot more testing / type approval etc etc if they were to add the flappy paddle gearbox or add more power. Er, of course - so do it then!

I very much doubt they would do it for less than the original, and even if they did, it wouldn't be worth as much as an original.

In the AM magazine a while back there was an article on the V12 Zag saying the front wings alone are £26k a piece.
