Hi all,

I've got plenty of meat still on my tyres but I'm going to keep an eye out for any tyre deals that I can buy and then store them for later use (I've done this before using ebay alert/saved searches to good effect) but I realised that given my car is under the AM Assured used scheme with it's 1 year warranty, I might need to buy the official Aston Martin stamped tyres for that warranty to be valid.

Can anyone shed any light on this? It would severely restrict my tyre search if this was true so I hope they're lenient on this front...

Cheers,

James

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm only looking at performance tyres - not cheapies - but would (assuming matched sets) be open to purchasing Sport Contact 5s, PS2s or F1s etc if the price was worthwhile.

Not sure about invalidating the warranty, but the AM9 is the correct marking on the RE050 that should be fitted to the V8. There is much talk about different tyres and in fairness I cant comment as I never did fit anything other than the correct ones. I am told that the compound is slightly different and specific for the car, but this could be BS. I would not EVER mix the tyres or compounds front to back or side to side though as you will upset the balance of the car. You will be taking a risk changing all 4 for something other than the originals to find that you dont like them.

I guess that others will have changed tyres to a brand other than the Bridgestones, but not many...
