Gents
I have just had to manually close the roof and allen key it locked in place.
However the Roof Fail message has not cleared. Does anyone know how to reset this and get the roof working again.

The roof did not fail, I just stopped the movement mid stroke to check for a rattle and then after a little while it goes into fault and you have to manually close before it will reactivate.

Aston say I need to book it in for diagnostic check. A pain! and probably expensive!

Thanks

Did the cover fall on to the roof after a while? (ie hydraulic pressure loss/reset?)
Did you manage to close it all up OK?

If so you should just need to open and close the roof from the button with the car running.

Whenever I mess with the roof I ALWAYS move it slightly every few minutes to ensure it doens't reset and drop the hydraulic pressure.

Yes
However the error message will not go away and the roof will not operate using the button.
Aston at Reading said leave it over night, it might be OK in the morning!

Error writing that for us to take the mick out of or stopping mid stroke? Or both!

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt ... etc

For me, we just folded it so the car was open, then went fully that way on the switch and then back to closing it up again and the faults went.

Me too just pulled it back so it shut properly then cycled the roof once aok.
Stoped the roof halfway to inspect and ended up with the photo above easy done if the power cuts and it folds under its own weight!

OK all sorted.
The rear cover had not located fully. Push down on each side and a nice healthy click tells you it is locked down and then it starts working again.
Thanks for your help gents.
