Advice on Le Mans

I'm thinking of going to Le Mans this year with V12V. 1st-tickets seem to be organising a joint AMOC / Pistonheads campsite, so think i'll pop myself in there...
I've noticed that entrance to 'granstands' is extra, is this worth paying for or is the genral admission ticket good enough?

FWIW I've never bothered with grandstands, you're then stuck in one place and there's so much to be seen just wandering around. For the race start it's worth pushing your way to the steps in front of the grandstands on the start/finish straight though, usually plenty of space although it doesn't look like it!

I always get at grandstand seat (after the first few times without) and I always walk round to all the other viewing points.

Grandstands are great at the start, at the finish, if it is raining, if its really hot.
