V8 Vantage S/ S Roadster Sportshift
Discussion
I'm possibly considering an Aston Martin and would be grateful for any feedback. I want a paddle shift so unfortunately that rules out the V12s, dealer has suggested a Vantage S/ S Roadster
it will predominately be used for European tours and occasional weekend fun.
Any good or bad points I should look for, ownership experiences etc
thanks

The SP did a couple of tours and handled the 12k miles on 9 months well.
Storage in a roadster is a bit of an art there was a recent thread on this.
Forget the inbuilt sat nav the Garmin in the S is a lot better but still not up to Tom Tom standards.
Get the standard sport seats so you can have heaters.
The heater is not really up to it for a roadster on colder temps.
Go drive one as it is a very different animal to the standard car even with the sport pack.
Had a 4.7 coupe from new. Did 6000 miles in 6 months totally loved it! Changed it for a V8S last July . Have now completed 3000 miles, it is, believe me, a very different animal. The V8S steers with much greater precision and speed. The engine has a sport button which dramatically speeds up throttle response, this is aided by the paddle shift 7 speed manual box. The obvious additional of carbon splitter and diffuser make the whole appearance more aggresive. The new floating discs up front make stopping from speed less dramatic because you concentrate more on where you are going not stopping.
Forget fuse 15, (22) have the hydraulic pipes pulled off the exhaust because the exhaust note is awesome.
We never considered a convertible for a host of reasons. Believe me I love my car.
