Does anyone have any official figures or had a test at a race circuit?

With and without bypass please as I am booked into a charity day and there is a 98dB limit. The search does not work on the forum at the moment.

Mine tested at Goodwood at 101db, standard exhaust but vacuum pipes disconnected.

Not sure where the bypass opens on the V12V, but it will certainly open when you're tested at 4700rpm!

So regardless of bypass or not, you'll be making max noise frown

Think you'll struggle TBH, but as a charity day there might be some leeway...

Thanks for the replies. It is Goodwood and have been told 98 is the limit, so 101 is going to exclude me. Sadly it is a charity event raising money for RNRMCF.

The Goodwood guys are REALLY helpful, take a chance and they'll help if they can.

My car started the day at 113dB and I was allowed out after some wadding and sleeving was installed. There will hopefully be someone there to help, running at Goodwood is just a matter of knowing where to lift off for the microphones at 3 places on the circuit.

Give it a try!

If yeti can pass the test then a standard V12V can. I've heard his car... from about two miles away...

It all depends on who does the actual testing...

I own a business that deals with pro-audio and there are specific methods to use when measuring sound pressure.

Also it's worth checking what weighting and range they have their meter set to.

I tested a friends car prior to them heading to Oulton Park.

To the side it was within spec, approx 1 metre away at an angle of approx 30' the reading was roughly half a db over. (a lot of places measure this way), and then on axis with the tail pipe it was around the 114db mark.

I guess this is where an active system can really be helpful, close the valves for testing, open them for racing :-)

John, mine was 98 but I may have been at 4,000 rpm ;-) Goodwood is a nice fast circuit - you'll have a great day!
Fuse 22 made no difference as others have highlighted

I have been to two track days at Goodwood in my V8V when a V12V was running with no problems at all.

And the driver was not holding back.
