Should the V8V's internal boot release unlock the boot fully? A single pull on the button only ever seems to open mine partially - I have to pull it several times before I can then open the boot from outside without pressing the (exterior) button.
The strange thing is, if I open it with the double press on the keyfob, it unlocks it fully every time! I'd have thought it was exactly the same mechanism of opening ...

I had to do a double read there because for some reason I interpreted your question as pulling on the emergency release in the boot itself! Doh!
My boot release button works first time every time. One click and the boot is released. Don't have any suggestions for why yours does it does. Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks for the response. Got to get it booked in for air temp sensor fault so will get them to look at this as well.

Yep - you press the key fob button twice in quick succession to open the boot - then it activates the solenoid.
But that's what's strange - surely it's the same solenoid and mechanism that is activated by the boot release switch in the car and the button on the boot itself. A single press on the boot button does the same as the double press on the key fob. Likewise, a pull on the interior boot release should do the same thing - and it does, up to a point, in that it opens the boot a bit(so the light comes on) but not enough to open it fully.

On my DB9 a single press just opens it slightly. A double press makes no difference whatsoever frown

Did it three times this morning to make sure - double press on remote. How odd smile Perhaps to ensure you haven't done it by accident? Imagine getting in the car, belt on (to avoid the bloomin "bing, bing") engine start up and "warning, boot open"...
