Apologies for the emotional thread last eve. A culmination of a sad day and an early start on the vino.

I fear it may not be the last. All my cats are old and Tulla was the second one to go in the last few months. We are now just down to one and a half both of which are nearing twenty.

Poor Fred, he really doesn't deserve the nickname I gave him many years ago. He is not, as far as I know a porn star, or remotely interested in porn.

A crowd of us went to Cornwall in TVR's years ago, and we overnighted in tents in a field. While most of us had finished erecting ours, we turned to see Fred putting up the equivalent of a marquee, just for two people. The thing just kept on growing and we were envisaging chandeliers double beds and sofas etc piling into this tent.

It was decided that he was probably surreptitiously running a portable Bordello, a theory given credence by the soft light emanating from his palace.

It seemed fitting to attach the label 'Porno Fred' to him which like these things tend to do has stuck to this day.

Sorry the truth doesn't live up to the reality. Perhaps I should have left it shrouded in mystery.

I shall let him know he needn't remove fuse 22 as he was going to spend yesterday pm looking for it. Oh and JohnG1 I wasn't alluding to you washing, just the ever grubby Mako.

No need to be sorry Di. I had to make 'the decision' in the space of an hour over the telephone for my elderly Uncle's Labrador whilst we were on holiday in Norfolk last summer. Family was absolutely gutted and in floods of tears. We were supposed to be having dinner at the Hoste an hour and a half later but just couldn't - ended up failing to eat a frozen pizza from the Spar. Your cat certainly had a good innings and I'm sure was spoilt throughout.

PS Uncle is now being terrorised by a nuts 4 month old Cockapoo called Freddie!
