DB7V headlight bulbs and reverse light

Had the dubious pleasure of replacing the dipped beam bulb tonight. The manual suggests you just turn the wheels full lock to gain access. b
ks! I defy anyone to change that bulb without removing the wheel. Anyway that was fine in the end (knuckle skin grows back eventually!)
My problem is the reversing light, which isn't working. Its not the bulb (replaced it) and its not the fuse (fuse 1 in the boot fusebox changed) so I'm at the limits of my knowledge really! Is it likely to be a sticky switch somewhere and if so is it easily accessible? I should say that my car is a manual.
