Geometry set-up V8V options - advice sought.
Discussion
Afternoon folks,
On this subject I am planning on getting my geo checked over and reset in the next couple of weeks.
Both Trinity and TDI are within striking distance and there is only a £50 difference in cost between the two. Based on your experiences - any personal recommendations? I have no experience of either so need some advice.
Thanks in advance
Kris

Based in Chesham Bucks , they set up our Aston's , and do alot of work for many car clubs as well as Drift cars , really know there stuff.
Mention Alan from Aston Martin Amersham and you should get looked after on price as well.

Sounds about right to me.... it would make sense that the Aston kit geo isnt that far from what was developed by 3rd parties, before that kit came out....what works on a car for fast road use is what what works. The rest is down to driver preference
in Lotus world on Elise based cars there are a range of geo setups, some have come from the factory on more track orientated versions/kits, some are owner or 3rd party developed. Most people stick to 1 of around 3 popular ones depending on exact wheel/tyre/suspension/height they are running
for the amateur trackday driver, with little chassis setup knowledge its nice to have this, and seems like Aston and the after market have done the job to suit most of us already
of course, if you are running different wheels, sticky track tyres, 3 way suspension and 40mm lower height, then you go somewhere with a workshop/track and spend some time n money developing your own to suit

Interesting, I had a look at the post on Geo that Jockman kindly posted and the numbers are very similar to the standard Aston Martin Sport Pack / 4.7 Geo.
All in all they seem to be fairly conservative numbers, especially the front camber.
Please let me know if I've got the wrong end of the stick.
My favourite settings for the V8All in all they seem to be fairly conservative numbers, especially the front camber.

The bit at the top of the image is Ricks Fav setting.
He adds a bit more camber on the front for better cornering & more tyre wear and takes a bit of castor off for lighter/quicker steering but less self centering & stability.
I used to do something similar on my last car.
It's balance between handling and tyre wear.
They all affect each other as does front to rear.
Always add the weight and fuel as per the AM document.
Here's a simple guide
