Well I have done it at last! What a sod of a job, took me a little time to notice that the fuses were numbered, my eyesight is dreadful. Managed to flick out number 22 only to see it disappear in the gubbins.

My conclusion is that instead of making a hell of a din most of the time my S now does it all of the time. Supposed to be laid up for winter; took her out for a play instead. Picked Molly up and took her for lunch. Fantastic! We sat in the window of the pub and just looked at our Aston, even more Fantastic!!

Excuse my ignorance but what is the fuse for, and how does it affect the car? I'm assuming it makes the exhaust note all the more pleasant?

Like I have done so, this PH member also took Bamford Rose up on their offer to fit for free a switch to manually control the byapss valves. I too strained the eyes trying to find it, this option is a whole lot easier smile

Not tried it on my S.
With the sport button in I love the popping on the over run but still stealth enough to get around town subtly.
Might give it a try next time I'm out.
I thought they had change the fuse number on the later cares?

Crikey Mikey, your typing like Manuel from Fawlty Towers !!

I do believe F22 is F3 on the Virage. Moreover, they have made it almost impossible to reach.

Rob - they are numbered but usually in the same colour as the plastic casing (daft) and if you've lost it just get a yellow 20amp blade fuse from Halfords smile

What's the rationale behind that then? Is it in a different fuse box to make it impossible to reach? I think we had this discussion once before, but I forget.

Good effort Rob, the car is vastly improved without fuse 22 smile

Has anyone laid up their cars this wonter? With no salt and mild days, there's no point really!

Sun's out today!

Thought i would only tax the AM & TVR untill end of Oct due to the bad weather we had last year and the thought of all that metal eating salt, but we havent had any bad weather or salt yet down here on the South coast. Oh well, keeps the mileage down, and really makes you look forward to March when they will reapear again. Funnily enough, i am still taking the bike out on the odd weekend.

Rob, 011MY + cars should be fuse 15 from the boot - they changed it from 22 - unless they have changed it back as a double bluff, a moving fuse location to confuse the loud exhaust brigade biggrin

It's fuse 15 for for MY12 still on the Vantage at least. I was very unimpressed with the result of removing fuse 22 until I found out about the change!

I though I recalled that.
So what is 22 in the MY12 cars?

Morning Mikey - how are you enjoying the new S compared to last beast?

I believe fuse 22 (boot) is a dummy now, but as Aston may change things again without notice, for first timer fuse removers (not you Mikey, you know more than the manual does!) it's always worth checking with your local friendly dealer before doing the dirty deed, as some go to the wrong fuse box!

Its great - in fact greater than the sum of the changes! (very different to the 4.7 SP)
Thinking this through why would you pull the fuse on an S when the Sport button does the same thing?
I just leave the giggle button in most the time as I prefer the quicker throttle response.

Glad you are enjoying the car- I miss the Roadster experience.
I agree about the sport button on the S, unfortunately it doesn't work the same on the V12V, cold, wet road lack of tyre grip, high torque, sport button = sideways everywhere.......... Then again biggrin
