Well its happened I’m now back in the fold... well will be from next Saturday. I finally made the decision which car to go for.... well with some serious direction from my young lady...
I’ve looked at dozens of cars over the past 6 months from 4.3’s to 4.7’s and found some stunning cars. I’ve even played around with the idea of buying a 4.3 and then having the engine upgrade and sports pack added as found some good 4.3’s at reasonable prices but none of them had that ‘buy me factor’.... That said if I’m honest I ended up with a completely different car than I went looking for... I thought I wanted an Orange N400 or one in lighting silver or even a bright yellow roadster made the short list... I was also set on the car being a Sports Shift.......
So what did I end up with.... well none of the above I finally went for the only car that said ‘Buy me!!!’... more like shouted ‘buy me now!!!!’ it’s a manual Black N400... so completely different form my original wish list.... It must be as Lady Topaz said, in one of the threads, the car chooses you and not the other way round.....
It’s a great looking car already but once Paddy328 has finished detailing it for me it’s going to look stunning. Yes I know I need to post pictures. I will do as soon as I’ve picked it up.
I’d like to thank all of the contributors to this forum as over the past year I’ve spent a lot time reading up on the stuff I should have probably already known about AM and more importantly what to watch for and what to stay away from. The advise that’s given about every subject matter from who to purchase from through to warranty consideration and the best people to service the cars ongoing has been really helpful. The ‘off topic’ stuff has kept me smiling for hours. I’m gutted I’m not getting the car this weekend as I would have loved to actually put faces to names at Brooklands tomorrow.
Special thanks to mikey k, steveatesh, marcelg, Shmee, George H, silverspeed, Jockman, Ballistic Banana, tarks63, paddy328 & Yeti (Yeti it was your post that my young lady spotted and subsequently test drove a manual and my fate was sealed).
Can’t wait only 7 days to go and counting..... this is like a second Christmas....

Dicky, I think you'll find that Di was in the midst of one of her hallucinogenic episodes when she said that, but glad it prompted your return. You were indeed only away for a 'ShortTime' so welcome back

15 months is way too long... I kept watching other ones drive past me and grumbling to myself that I should never have sold it.... that said If I hadn’t I probably wouldn’t been going fro a drop top this time round. Can’t wait. You were indeed only away for a 'ShortTime' so welcome back
hallucinogenic episodes... yep that was probably the issue. Thanks god for small mercies..... and AM’s...

Great choice looks fantastic in the dealer pics. Did you mention stone chips on the previous thread? If you get them done put some Venture Shield once it's all sorted. My V8R is a manual and I love it - every drive is so involving. Roll on a long hot sunny Summer!
They have been sorted now, nothing major... also Francis one of the other PH members is doing the detailing for me so he’s going to do the magic on them. So should be all clean and shinny by the time I get it next week. The guys at the Indy have been really great, just as other PHers said they would be.
Roll on Saturday... lets hope the weather is good.

I agree with you on this. I'd been looking for ages, then BANG, along comes the absolute perfect car, in the right colour, with the right options, at the right price. It would have been rude of me not to buy it.Congrats on the new car; I love the N400's so really looking forward to seeing some pics.
I love threads like this, where people are super excited to get their new astons. No pressure for little ol me to make her look the business.
I will resist posting any pics up and leave that him. It is gorgeous already, but like dicky said, its going to be fully protected and looking stunning when he picks it up.
