What about it ? If you can buy a 2005 DB9 for 40k (as Autocar will report next week ) would another 50k cover the cost of chopping the roof off and going for a shooting brake roof with another row of (small) seats which can fold flat to create a hatchback load area . It,s been done in a DB 5 why not a DB9 - I would be interested for 100k all in . I am sure if Mr Bez is already working on the idea he is at £175k new .

I doubt £50k would cover the cost of a quality conversion but in any case, why would you do this when you can buy a 1 year-old Rapide for under £100k?

I am thinking Simitar GTE Jag Lynx, the recent Bentley SB,Ferrari FF type thing .Has anybody got any pictures of the DB5 SB .Obviously it has to look great rather than be too practical but if all you are doing is creating a rear hatch and a different back seat and leaving all mechanicals I don't see why it should cost the earth ? Maybe start with a Volante - roof already chopped off and chassis strengthened . Rapide is 5 doors no real boot space different concept
