crazy DB9 door mirror

Hi,
took my 04 DB9 today and when trying to lower both door mirrors when reversing ,the lh (rhd car) mirror would not rotate toward the ground as usual when pressing down the joystick,then when trying to set the mirror it would not respond as it should:when trying to move from left to right it would go up or down instead and then go completely crazy moving in all directions for about 3 seconds.The lh one still performed allright and both fold normally when locking the car with the remote.When checking the wiring diagram the door control switches panel is connected to the door controle module, what would you think has gone wrong?

Might be the mirror motor. They have internal position sensors and one of those may have gone faulty. The only other thing would be the door module but they're quite hard to test. Usually the best option is to use a slave module and retest but early door modules have been superceeded to the new version (11my) which means they need to be replaced in pairs. Without seeing it I'd probably suspect the mirror at the moment though.

It's turned cold and frosty, could it just need thawing?...(I'm definitely no mechanic!)

no problems here with the cold as we have an average yearly temperature between 25 and 30°c,will have a look at the door module and the mirror this week end.
