As per the title.
My outside temp gauge is showing 15-16 degrees C all the time (there was snow on my drive when I left this morning!).
It's irritating, especially at this time of year, but not a major issue.
However, does the climate control use it at all to gauge incoming air temp? I suspect not, but if it does it'd be worth booking it in to get it fixed. Otherwise, I'll wait.

It's a MY10.5 V8V by the way.

Not sure on your point here Chris confused

If the thermo has been corrupted then you definitely qualify for a warranty replacement - not long had mine done smile

It is. Mine's supposedly been fixed once, but keeps dialling up ludicrously high temperatures, kiciKing the air on into overdrive.

Mine did this too, used to show very high outside temperatures and I'm convinced it stopped the climate control working properly. Replaced under warranty, I was told it is quite common.

When I hear that I wonder if AM studies type and frequency of demand so they can improve their supply chain?

My point really was that if all it does is show the outside temp, it's a minor irritation which I can wait to get sorted in the new year. If it does other things then it's more serious so I should try to get it seen to PDQ. Two weeks before Xmas isn't the ideal time to be wasting a day driving to and from a dealer if it's not strictly necessary!

But from the responses sounds like I may have to bite the bullet and get it booked in ...

I am aware that the outside temp often reads wrong on Astons and I was told it was due to the fact the sensor is too near the engine and gets affected by engine heat, but no mention was made to the fact it has an adverse affect on the climate control.

Is it??? That seems really odd to me - why would the outside temperature affect how the climate control needs to function?

All that matters is the desired temp setting and the actual current internal temp. Surely the outside temp is just for informational purposes only?

An interesting one. If I sit in traffic and the outside temp starts to go up ( I am sure this is due to the location of the sensor near to the engin ) then the aircon starts to blow cold air, which can be a real pain on a cold day. So I would have thought that they are linked.

Purely from observation - o/s temp gauge reaches silly figure (never happened in my DB9) and then, frequently enough to exclude coincidence, the aircon kicks up several gears).

Fairy snuff - I'll keep my eyes peeled on it next summer!
