Hello all,
I've been a long time reader of these forums but this is my first post. I've finally made the decision to take the plunge, so am in the process of searching for a V8V or V8VR. I want to go to a main dealer and was wondering if anybody could recommend their favourite salesperson at Stratstone?
Thank you,
Rich

Bonjourno Rich.
Where you thinking of looking geographically ?
Go on to the pre-owned site and see if there is anything you like, in an area you like.
As for personnel, they are all extremely nice people. They just need handling properly

I live near Southampton, but the reason I mentioned Stratstone is because they always seem to have quite a few cars on their books. So really I'd be looking in/around London. Is there any mileage in going direct to the dealership who has the car, or is it just a matter of picking a convenient branch and going from there? Realistically I'm going to be looking at an 07/57 plate car at the newest.
Thanks, Rich

Rich - Stratstone will move cars for you if they believe there is a credible sale to be had. They moved a DB9 from Tyne & Wear to Wilmslow for me to try...and I bought it.I live near Southampton, but the reason I mentioned Stratstone is because they always seem to have quite a few cars on their books. They will have lots of stock on their books at your most local dealer so that you can get a 'feel' for your chosen model. There will also be cars that are just in and not yet marketed.

Thank you Jockman for your advice - as I mentioned I've been reading these forums for months and have seen you're a big contributor, it's good to get guidance from people like yourself who've been there and done it all before! I've been dealing with Nigel at the Stratstone in west London (Park Royal) - it's the middle of bloody nowhere, but he knows is stuff, and is very helpful.
They seem happy to move cars about though, and personally I would want to deal with a place as near home as possible incase/for when things go wrong and you want someone to fix it. Based on the few cars I've seen I get the impression that their standard of preparation is very high.
Incidentally, until about 5 years ago I lived in the Portswood/Highfield area of Southampton.

I have recently moved over to Aston from Porsche, I purchased my Vantage from Stratstone Derby and found them to be brilliant.
They found me the right car, worked hard on a good price for my old 996 Turbo and when I picked the car up it was presented superbly only the Speedo gave away it was not a new car.
Having bought many cars from all the German brands this was the best experience I have had and would highly recommend it.
As a good friend once said to me in three weeks you forget you saved a few quid but a positive purchase experience lasts a long long time.
I now have a great car in superb condition and a proper Aston warranty.

Stratstone are the largest AM dealers. Completely understand positive feedback though as an ex customer I found them very helpful a while back. More recently less convinced, their volume dealer franchise mentality from Pendragon is much more evident.
Broughtons in Cheltenham are now owned by a committed high end car dealer parent and well regarded.
Grange from personal experience also excellent.
