Hello, goodbye & hanging up the pipe and Slippers
Discussion
Hello all,
After a few years of lurking around on this forum I thought it was time I made an appearance as I am about to say goodbye to my fantastic DB9. Since 2007 I have done a few miles, Scottish highlands, Le Mans 24hr twice, some autobahn action and various other excursions. A great car that will be difficult to wave goodbye heres' a pic of the old girl before she goes.....
However......in its place in the garage will be a very bright Cobalt Blue Vantage S coupe........I think I may have just rediscovered my Mojo,

Hi Jockman
Went for an ex UK Sales car. 2011 car with 4k on the clock. Very very good deal. The price was a motivator but the DB9 had to go, same old story, nipper too big for back seats now so it was not really delivering the goods as a four seater anymore, so therefore why have any back seats at all!! Tried all sorts as a replacement but the 'S" made me smile so a deal was done.

Congrats! Wow, what a replacement! How old were your sprogs before they go too big for the back seats? My daughter is 4 and I'm 5'6 - do you think I could live with a DB9? Considering chopping in my v8v but will lose a lot of money in the process so would be grateful for perspective on this.

The DB9 was ok until he got to age 9 , (145cm tall). He could never get behind the drivers seat and I am only 5'10. Even sitting behind the passenger seat it had to be a long way forward which just didn't make for a decent journey for either Mrs BA of little BA. I was fine though. So family trips are now confined to the Range Rover without trying to squeeze into something that is a compromise. As good as the DB9 is, it really does not perform as anything more than a two seater. Mrs BA always used to be concerned at how close the back of the seat was to a childs face and what may happen in the event of a bit of a quick stop.
My advice would be not to buy a DB9 for the back seats, spend the pennies you are going to lose on a bus of some kind and keep a two seater.
hope that helps.
