V8V Wheel refurb
Discussion
I'm having my wheels refurbed by www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk
today. It's a full sand blast, repair any scuffs, primed and powder coat the whole wheel.
Can't wait to see the finished wheels, examples of their work looked amazing. The wheels had been done previously but not the best job, will post pictures when I've got it back.

That's a coincidence, just dropped my V8 Vantage wheels at the Burton branch for a full refurbishment this morning. Already had a phone call to say 3 of the 4 valves were seized so had to be cut off. Aston only sell the whole valve/pressure sensor assembly (would have cost more than the refurbishment) but they've managed to source just the bit they had to cut from BMW for £13 each. I've been impressed so far, so looking forward to seeing the end result tomorrow.
Thankfully I've not had a call yet, mines in Manchester. Due to pick it up in a couple of hours, I'm a bit OCD where wheels are concerned, ie they need to be as clean inside as they are on the face. It's the only thing that used to bug me about the car, hopefully now will all be fixed.
I'm really pleased with the results, sorry for the poor phone picture, taken at 6.30am this morning after a 35 mile trip in the rain. Looking forward to fettling the whole car this weekend.
Cost wise, they originally quoted £430 ish, but have recently been offering a 25% discount, presumably because they're a bit quiet at the moment.
I went for the TWS3 finish which has a slight fleck in it. Looks great, highly recommended.

Isn't that quite expensive? I had my (997 not v8v) done for £200 and they came up great. Maybe they have a different/better approach.Cost wise, they originally quoted £430 ish, but have recently been offering a 25% discount, presumably because they're a bit quiet at the moment.

I'd been haggling with them on price for a few months and eventually I got them done for what I wanted to pay, which I was very happy with. It might be expensive for a painted refurb, but these are not painted. Once they've been shot blasted to get rid of all corrosion, they have a 2 stage powder coating.
I'm assured this will not peel away again like a normal rub down and re-paint (as had been done by the previous owner).
For what I paid I'm very happy with the results, my OCD is strong but happy now!

Hi guys. Potential future owner and lurker here
I have just used a local (to me anyway) service and was very pleased. The link is below. They operate on an exchange basis and then fully check and refurb the traded is wheels. I can say that they really do check wheels for straightness cracks etc etcbefore refurbing them and putting them on the shelf for the next customer. I just had 4 exchanged on my wife's TT.
You get a choice to call in where tyre fitting and balance is included in price ot there is a courier service for you to get tyres changed by your preferred fitter.
Note, I have no commercial or other interest in the organisation. Just happy with the service.

Stratstone Wilmslow collected my car under the original warranty earlier in the week. It only needed a sidelight bulb replacing but I thought I would get the whole system checked - yes, I'm that lazy.Whilst it was there they replaced all 4 wheel centres FOC because they felt like it.
They also didn't like the slow speed that the glovebox was opening so they put a new mechanism on FOC.
Nor did they like a couple of the wheel nuts, so they replaced them too FOC.
They then valetted the car FOC.
It's really difficult to beat that kind of service from Keith, Alan and the team over there
