My renewal is due this month. I have had a few quotes. The most favourable would seem to be Aviva Prestige sourced through Aon. Has any one out there had any experience of them. Thanks in advance.

What was your quote? Just had my Aviva renewal for a V8V = £850 for a 47 year old with a clean licence, max NCB, garaged, under 6k pa, £850 excess. The premium is similar to what I paid last January so despite what the press say about insurance premium increases, this doesn't seem so bad.

I use Direct Line. They were cheaper than Aviva Prestige on a recent quotation, though the cover isn't quite as comprehesive (e.g. Aviva will give you a new car replacement if you are first owner if you have a write off within the first 24 months of ownership, Direct Line will payout market value only).

You could also try Direct Line Select. Their higher value service for household & for motoring. They worked out at a similar cost to Aviva from memory, but might be worth cheking out.

Thankyou for prompt response, I was quoted £730.99 which I honestly can say is some £169 cheaper than last December. Bearing in mind that you get what you pay for. What features or lack of should I look out for? The excess is £1500 which sounds a lot. It would'nt go very far though as well we know.

I got a quote from Locktons and @47 yrs, V12V, Manchester, and 7.5k miles it was just over £1k which I thought was reasonable and was significantly less than the last 12 months....+ it covers me for decent periods in Germany and there's something in there about track days....

But guess it depends on what you need...smile

Bloomin 'eck Kerbys, that is indeed a cracking deal.

I hope Shmee and Georgeous H are reading this.

As for me...Locktons. Surprised they are not offering Rob the best deal, bearing in mind his AMOC pedigree smile

Does anyone have a direct telephone number for Locktons and would they sell single policies to individuals?

0207 933 0000 - just ask for a car insurance quote. I'm an individual with a single policy.

I just had a quote from Lockton's, and they were half the price of anyone else, with much better terms.

How true ............. mine came in £100 cheaper than Aviva but excess so much better at £250 instead of a lofty £800. Chubb is also a top underwriter which gives peace of mind.

Thanks for all the advice.

Only just read it now, that is a good deal. It's still cheaper and easier for me to stick with Admiral, should be around £2500 for both cars next year judging by quotes. Not due until March so will have to wait and see. Plus both cars on one policy is much less hassle smile
