My Vantage gets parked outside and we have had problems with water in the boot which we have resolved by using an airhose to clear the drains. About that time the reversing sensors worked intermittently. Had the sensors checked/replaced and they worked fine, then some more rain, no good, dry again and they work again. Garage tried hosing down the car to make the problem happen after repairing it again and only got one "no" out of loads of tries but then as soon as it rained, they did not work again.

Has anyone had similar problems?

We have fitted loads of bumpers and not had any problems. Next time it stops working put into reverse and feel the sensors, if one does not pulse then it or the wiring is faulty?
Did they check all the connections, not sure where ECU is but sounds like water getting in somewhere??

Alan, My V8 Vantage behaves in exactly the same way, i.e. when the reversing sensors are wet they don't work.

Checked with Rick at DMS some time back. He confirmed that it was a fairly common problem , the solution being to wipe the water away from the thin recess around each sensor.

Inconvenient I know particularly if it's still raining but as always he was absolutely spot on.

Hi Guys. Thanks very much for the replies. I will try both the next time it rains as well as chatting to the garage.
